TFX covers Time For Prints (TFP) or Time For CD (TFCD) and generally means a free shoot.

We don't do TFX shoots. We are professional photographers and, unlike amateurs who take pictures for themselves to build up a portfolio or to gain experience, we shoot for the client. That is YOU.

We don't shoot in a particular style that pleases us, we shoot in the style that YOU want. Amateurs generally want to develop a particular style, or get experience in a particular genre.
If you change your mind and do not want the pictures to be on line, then we will not publish them. If at some stage you would prefer your pictures are taken off our site we will do it, quickly (usually within 24 hours of your communication) and without fuss. Amateurs generally want to use images of you to illustrate their skills and are perfectly within their rights to refuse to remove your pictures from their websites.  (Don't assume that a model release is required - it isn't.)
We get your pictures back to you usually within a week.  It's our job after all. We hear of models waiting months for pictures from amateurs all the time.
We always work to the level that YOU want to do.  If you don't want glamour, lingerie or nudity that is YOUR decision. Some amateurs try to get models to work at limits beyond their wishes
We have lots of experience in working with topless and nude models of all shapes and sizes and at all levels - we are unshockable! Some amateurs get so embarrassed in glamour shoots they cannot use their cameras properly.
We shoot in our own photographic studio with professional lighting equipment and cameras. Most amateurs shoot in their house, your house, or outdoors.
We can give you a choice of a male or female photographer. No choice
We are an established business with a reputation to consider Many of the seedier amateurs operate under pseudonyms, which they change regularly as they develop bad reputations.
All the above is not to say that all amateurs are bad or untrustworthy. After all we started out as amateurs many years ago (I blush to think of some of my early images!!).  We positively encourage models to work with amateurs, just as long as they get paid by the photographer, and don't expect anything of value other than their fee.  Look on good pictures from them as a bonus.

Model Releases
A model release is required by magazines or website who intend to sell the pictures or use them for advertising.  It is NOT required for editorial use. (For example, how many pictures of the the Royal Family or celebs do you see in newspapers? No model release has been signed).  The copyright automatically belongs to the photographer and he can sell an image or use it for editorial use without your permission or approval.
Occasionally we may work with models where we think the pictures may be saleable, in that case we ask for a model release to be signed.
 

WE DO VERY OCCASIONAL TEST SHOOTS FOR NO CHARGE under the following circumstances:-

  • If you get at least 4 hours paid work in our studio we will offer a test shoot for no charge.
  • If you are an established model, and visit the area regularly, and may bring work to the studio then we may offer a TFCD shoot.  NOTE:- we are a primarily photography business, not an agency or a portfolio hosting site so we cannot use other photographers pictures here.
  • If you think a shoot with you may result in saleable pictures, then let us know the targeted buyer and we will see what we can do for you. In this you will need to sign model release.

Test shoots are similar to portfolio shoots but usually a little shorter. 
WE DO NOT pay travelling expenses, supply prints, model cards, or a calendar (you can buy these if you wish of course).

WE DO supply all that we have promised in a timely manner - usually a week.
NOTE
We will NOT take topless or nude pictures of any model under 18 years old, and in addition those under 18 MUST by chaperoned, by a parent or guardian. Proof of age may be required.
